THE JOURNEY OF the 2020 DELEGATION
REGENSBURG TO NEW YORK
VIET NAM – Our NMUN Country
Viet Nam is known for its breathtakingly beautiful nature. The country, whose surface area corresponds to approx. 93% of that of Germany, occupies the entire Southeast Asian mainland coast and is often referred to as the „bamboo pole with two rice shells“ due to its geography.
We are 15 students from the University of Regensburg with different fields of study who are interested in experiencing the inner structure of the UN from close up. This year’s delegation will be representing Viet Nam at the NMUN conference A which will take place from 29 March to 2 April 2020 in New York.
Our way to New York
Our instructor Christian Sigl is preparing this year’s delegation intensively for the conference in New York. Both the weekly in-depth lectures and the participation in the UN simulation conference in Regensburg will prepare the delegation accurately for its UN related project in spring 2020.
About OUR DELEGATION
The UN has the ability to practically improve people’s lives with its numerous institutions and organizations while also trying to implement policies that will have a lasting impact on the global stage.
The UN is an international forum for communication and cooperation across borders, working multilaterally to achieve the most noble goals of humanity. The idea of coming together at the world’s biggest UN simulation conference in New York and working side by side with young people from all over the globe fascinates us.
Every Wednesday, we as a delegation meet in class and listen to our co-delegates giving presentations about Viet Nam. We inform each other about and critically discuss the historical background of the country, its international agenda and Viet Nam’s role within the UN.
